Rio Olympics Silver Medallist P.V. Sindhu was today felicitated by Olympic
Gold Quest (OGQ) in Mumbai. Sindhu, who trains at the Pullela Gopichand
Academy in Hyderabad, had won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics last
month. OGQ also felicitated her coach P. Gopichand, physiotherapist Kiran
C. and her father P.V. Ramana and mother P. Vijaya.
Geet Sethi, Co-Founder OGQ Said:
"Sindhu’s
achievement is simply magnificent. To see her play with so much confidence
and fire is testimony to what Indian athletes can do if they back their
talent with discipline, determination and fierce commitment to win. She
punched above her weight throughout the Olympics and she is truly an
inspiration to all Indian athletes."

since the time she was 15 years old. We have been with her every step of
the way on this long and fulfilling journey. To see her stand on the
Olympic podium at the age of 21 years with the Indian flag going up has

"I am very thrilled and honoured by the love and
support of everyone. I am very grateful to OGQ who have been supporting me
for the last six years. They were the first ones to recognize my potential
and support me when I needed it the most. I won my first senior
International tournament in Maldives in 2011 which was fully funded by
them including my coach from the Gopichand academy. They have always been
there for me through thick and thin. Every athlete who represents the
country needs this kind of support. I hope to bring more laurels to the
country in future."
