OGQ's journey began with a simple but powerful realization that India's athletes deserved world class support to fulfil their dreams.

The seed for the idea was planted during the 1998 Asian Games, where 9-time World Cue Sports Champion Geet Sethi, who was a participating athlete at the games, witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by Indian athletes and the gaps within the country's high-performance sports ecosystem.

That conviction deepened at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, where interactions with members of the Indian contingent reinforced the urgent need for a stronger support system.

On his flight back to Mumbai from Sydney, the vision for OGQ took shape. Soon after, Geet met Indian badminton legend Prakash Padukone, and together they envisioned an organisation that would provide athletes with the comprehensive support they needed to succeed on the world's biggest sporting stage. Their vision extended far beyond financial assistance, encompassing expert coaching, sports science, injury management, nutrition, mental conditioning, and logistical support, all delivered through a dedicated, athlete first approach.

With this shared vision, Geet Sethi and Prakash Padukone founded OGQ as a not-for-profit organisation committed to helping Indian athletes achieve Olympic and Paralympic success. Over the years, distinguished corporate leaders including Niraj Bajaj, Shitin Desai, R. Ramaraj, Rakesh Khanna, and Neeraj Bharadwaj joined the Board, strengthening OGQ's mission and long-term impact
